How to change your name with Santee Cooper
Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how Santee Cooper takes a name change, from its own help page.
In person or by phone only. Santee Cooper is one of the few that won't change your name online. Call 800-804-7424 or visit, and bring your documents.
Santee Cooper's steps
Santee Cooper uses a separate Customer Name Change form. Call customer service and ask for it.
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
Let Sasha handle the letters
Sasha writes and signs your name change letter for Santee Cooper and every other company on your list, with your certificate attached. It also keeps track of who's done. The checklist is free.
Checked against Santee Cooper's own page in October 2026. Companies change their process; confirm on their site or by phone before you send anything. Sasha isn't affiliated with Santee Cooper.
