How to change your name with AT&T
Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how AT&T takes a name change, from its own help page.
AT&T's steps
AT&T can't do legal name changes by phone or in stores. Mail or fax a signed request with your account number, phone and a copy of your certificate. Home internet uses a different address.
Where to mail it (from AT&T's own page):
AT&T
P.O. Box 5074
Carol Stream, IL 60197-5074
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
Let Sasha handle the letters
Sasha writes and signs your name change letter for AT&T and every other company on your list, with your certificate attached. It can even print and mail it to AT&T for you: no printer, no stamps. It also keeps track of who's done. The checklist is free.
