How to change your name with Eversource
Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how Eversource takes a name change, from its own help page.
In person or by phone only. Eversource is one of the few that won't change your name online. Bring your documents when you go.
Eversource's steps
A legal name change is made by contacting Eversource customer service by phone; it can't be done in your online settings. Have your account number ready.
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
Let Sasha handle the letters
Sasha writes and signs your name change letter for Eversource and every other company on your list, with your certificate attached. It also keeps track of who's done. The checklist is free.
Checked against Eversource's own page in October 2026. Companies change their process; confirm on their site or by phone before you send anything. Sasha isn't affiliated with Eversource.
