How to change your name with EBMUD (East Bay water)
Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how EBMUD takes a name change, from its own help page.
In person or by phone only. EBMUD is one of the few that won't change your name online. Call 1-866-403-2683 or visit, and bring your documents.
EBMUD's steps
Call Customer Service (weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) or email them. There's no transfer fee to change the name when the same person stays responsible for the account.
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
