How to change your name with APS (Arizona Public Service)
Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how APS takes a name change, from its own help page.
In person or by phone only. APS is one of the few that won't change your name online. Call 602-371-7171 or visit, and bring your documents.
APS's steps
APS doesn't post name-change steps. Divorcing? Call to take your name off a joint account; APS confirms with the other person and can switch it, often by the next business day.
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
Let Sasha handle the letters
Sasha writes and signs your name change letter for APS and every other company on your list, with your certificate attached. It also keeps track of who's done. The checklist is free.
Checked against APS's own page in October 2026. Companies change their process; confirm on their site or by phone before you send anything. Sasha isn't affiliated with APS.
