How to change your name with USAA
Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how USAA takes a name change, from its own help page.
In person or by phone only. USAA is one of the few that won't change your name online. Call 800-531-8722 or visit, and bring your documents.

USAA doesn't publish the steps. Call and ask what to send; have your certificate or decree ready.
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
