Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how Chase takes a name change, from its own help page.

Chase's steps
If Social Security already has your new name, you can change it yourself on chase.com or in the app, with no documents. Otherwise send a secure message, call, or visit a branch.
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
Let Sasha handle the letters
Sasha writes and signs your name change letter for Chase and every other company on your list, with your certificate attached. It also keeps track of who's done. The checklist is free.
Checked against Chase's own page in October 2026. Companies change their process; confirm on their site or by phone before you send anything. Sasha isn't affiliated with Chase.
