How to change your name with Truist
Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how Truist takes a name change, from its own help page.
In person or by phone only. Truist is one of the few that won't change your name online. Call 844-487-8478 or visit, and bring your documents.
Truist's steps
Truist doesn't post online steps for a name change. Call or visit a branch and ask what they need; bring your marriage certificate or decree and your new ID.
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
Let Sasha handle the letters
Sasha writes and signs your name change letter for Truist and every other company on your list, with your certificate attached. It also keeps track of who's done. The checklist is free.
