How to change your name with Synchrony (store cards)
Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how Synchrony takes a name change, from its own help page.
In person or by phone only. Synchrony is one of the few that won't change your name online. Call 1-866-226-5638 or visit, and bring your documents.
Synchrony's steps
Call the number on the back of your card. Synchrony issues many store cards (Amazon, Lowe's, PayPal Credit and more).
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
