How to change your name with SECU (State Employees' Credit Union, NC)
Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how SECU takes a name change, from its own help page.
In person or by phone only. SECU is one of the few that won't change your name online. Call 888-732-8562 or visit, and bring your documents.
SECU's steps
SECU can't change your name online. Call Member Services or visit a branch; they may ask for ID, so bring your marriage certificate or decree and your new ID.
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
Let Sasha handle the letters
Sasha writes and signs your name change letter for SECU and every other company on your list, with your certificate attached. It also keeps track of who's done. The checklist is free.
