How to change your name with SDCCU (San Diego County Credit Union)
Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how SDCCU takes a name change, from its own help page.
In person or by phone only. SDCCU is one of the few that won't change your name online. Call 877-732-2848 or visit, and bring your documents.
SDCCU's steps
SDCCU requires name changes in writing (a check reorder doesn't count). Visit a branch or call to ask how to send it; bring your certificate or decree and new ID.
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
Let Sasha handle the letters
Sasha writes and signs your name change letter for SDCCU and every other company on your list, with your certificate attached. It also keeps track of who's done. The checklist is free.
