How to change your name with Merrill
Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how Merrill takes a name change, from its own help page.
Merrill's steps
Sign in at merrilledge.com to fill in the information change form, attach your legal document, and include a W-9.
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
Let Sasha handle the letters
Sasha writes and signs your name change letter for Merrill and every other company on your list, with your certificate attached. It can even print and mail it to Merrill for you: no printer, no stamps. It also keeps track of who's done. The checklist is free.
