How to change your name with E*TRADE
Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how E*TRADE takes a name change, from its own help page.
E*TRADE's steps
Submit the Name Change Authorization form online or by mail with a copy of your certified marriage certificate or divorce decree.
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
Let Sasha handle the letters
Sasha writes and signs your name change letter for E*TRADE and every other company on your list, with your certificate attached. It can even print and mail it to E*TRADE for you: no printer, no stamps. It also keeps track of who's done. The checklist is free.
