In Client Portal, open the user menu, then Settings, then Account Profile. Tap the pencil next to your profile, choose Profile and update your name, then confirm.
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
Let Sasha handle the letters
Sasha writes and signs your name change letter for Interactive Brokers and every other company on your list, with your certificate attached. It also keeps track of who's done. The checklist is free.
Checked against Interactive Brokers's own page in October 2026. Companies change their process; confirm on their site or by phone before you send anything. Sasha isn't affiliated with Interactive Brokers.
