How to change your name with BECU
Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how BECU takes a name change, from its own help page.
BECU's steps
Sign the Update Legal Name form online with DocuSign (or bring it to a branch) with your new and former photo IDs and your marriage certificate or decree.
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
Let Sasha handle the letters
Sasha writes and signs your name change letter for BECU and every other company on your list, with your certificate attached. It also keeps track of who's done. The checklist is free.
