Avis Preferred's steps

Log in, expand the Identity / Password section and choose edit. Avis may ask for documents for a legal name change; your name must match your license at pickup.

Open Avis Preferred's page

Have these ready

A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
Your account number, and the name the account is in now.

Let Sasha handle the letters

Sasha writes and signs your name change letter for Avis Preferred and every other company on your list, with your certificate attached. It also keeps track of who's done. The checklist is free.
