How to change your name with American AAdvantage
Married or divorced and updating your accounts? Here's how American AAdvantage takes a name change, from its own help page.
American AAdvantage's steps
Submit your legal document through identity verification on aa.com or the app, or by mail with your signature and AAdvantage number. Not by phone.
Have these ready
- A copy of your marriage certificate, divorce decree or court order (most companies ask for one).
- Your updated driver's license or ID, if you have it. Social Security comes first, then the DMV.
- Your account number, and the name the account is in now.
Let Sasha handle the letters
Sasha writes and signs your name change letter for American AAdvantage and every other company on your list, with your certificate attached. It can even print and mail it to American AAdvantage for you: no printer, no stamps. It also keeps track of who's done. The checklist is free.
